Jake Lear will be performing a very special live solo show at the Museum on Friday, June 26th, 2015 from 6:30pm - 8:00pm. Stop by and enjoy live blues and roots music in an intimate setting.
Raised on the music of John Lee Hooker, Jimi Hendrix and Howlin Wolf, Jake Lear is dedicated to the music of the blues. Spending years in Memphis, TN along with his drummer Roy Cunningham and bassist Carlos Arias recording three albums.

SHARK! The Misunderstood Fish

Opening Reception with Richard Elllis and 40th Anniversary Screening of JAWS

Friday, July 10th | 6 - 10pm, Jaws starts at8pm

Join us for the opening reception of the art exhibit SHARK! The Misunderstood Fish featuring the work of world-renowned artist and marine biologist, Richard Ellis. Other distinguished artists include April Gornik, Dan Rizzie, Donald Sultan, Dalton Portella, Joe Alves, Savio Mizzi, David Pintauro, Annie Sessler, Anthony Ackril, James Katsipis and jewelry by FIN. When the sun goes down, we’ll be hosting an outdoor 40th anniversary screening of Steven Spielberg’s JAWS on the Museum’s front lawn. Wine, beer, light food and refreshments will be served.
Suggested contribution: $20

Family Night - Picnic, Children’s Activities, Screening of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl

Saturday, July 11th | 6 - 10pm, Pirates starts at 8pm

Join us for a fun-filled Family Picnic including Cromer’s fried chicken, wine, Dreamy Coffee and Ice Cream provided by Sylvester & Co. Modern General™, and more. Children’s activities including balloon twisting and juggling by Jester Jim, painting, story telling, arts and crafts by Barefoot Kids camp, shark education kits and more! And when it’s dark, stay for an outdoor screening of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl on the front lawn of the Museum.

Lecture with Richard Ellis

Sunday, July 12th | 10am - 12pm

Come for an intimate lecture and multi-media presentation by world-renowned marine biologist, author and artist, Richard Ellis entitled “The Adventures of a Shark Painter” which includes fishing and conservation expeditions with Peter Benchley, Frank Mundus, Rodney Fox and others. Richard will also be signing books and prints of his artwork that will be available for sale.
Admission is FREE. Seating is limited and on a first come first serve basis so RSVP above.
