November 12th, 2013 (Long Island City, NY) Dear friends and colleagues,  NEW YORK MINDED is pleased to present “Pandas, Pellets & Power-ups – The Adventures of Pac-Panda” original works by Mike See.  This will be our fifth and last exhibition of 2013 Our biggest show to send us off to Miami to meet you all at our shows during Art Basel.  The exhibit will be displayed at the gallery from Nov. 21th, 2013 to Dec. 13th, 2013.  Opening reception: Thursday, November 21st, 2013 | 6PM – 9PM Location: NEW YORK MINDED GALLERY | STUDIO 38-82 13th Street, LIC NY 11101 ARTIST-WRITE UP: Mike See While in Miami for Art Basel, I did a few outdoor pieces in Wynwood (Miami's Art District), one of those being the PAC-PANDA. For this exhibition I wanted to further explore that concept and actualize it's potential to be something really fun and amazing. Fast-forward almost one year and well I think I captured what I wanted to...the nostalgia of our youth. I've spent time learning how to manipulate neon lighting with the help of master neon bender, Dave Ablon  (Brooklyn Glass) in an effort to transport the viewer into a real life arcade game.  To capture the piece in action, I created a stop motion short with a great photographer and friend Joel Sheakowsky. Finally to bring it all together I worked with my good friend and producer Chi-Bheats of Bklyn Stickup to create a heartbeat for this piece, an original music composition. This collection is meant to transport you back to a time when having fun were our biggest priority. I hope you enjoy.
